Sr Pega Solutions Architect

Position Description
We are actively seeking a Pega Senior Solutions Architect to join our team and support development efforts for a government client. Solution Architects assess a project’s technical feasibility, as well as implementation risks. They are responsible for designing and implementing a project’s technical architecture. They define the structure of a system, its interfaces, and the principles that guide its organization, software design and implementation. The scope of the Solution Architect’s role is bounded by the business issue at hand. A Solution Architect needs to have knowledge of all the different aspects of the technical solution as well as robust business knowledge. This includes the Software Architect.

Your future duties and responsibilities
The Pega Senior Solutions Architect will need to have a solid background and experience developing software on the Pega platform. This person will be relied upon as a subject matter expert of the technology, its capabilities and best practices. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Operate in an Agile software development environment while satisfying the government’s Waterfall-style project stage gates.
• Interact daily with system and business analysts to clarify requirements.
• Collaborate closely with other highly skilled Pega system architects.
• Be a champion of Pega’s technology and its value to the customer.
• Develop foundational enhancements to existing production Pega applications.
• Design and implement new Pega applications and prototypes.
• Establish standards and best practices for a Pega Center of Excellence (CoE).
• Mentor and support junior-level system architects to cultivate and sustain Pega expertise for the customer and within the company.
• Integrate Pega applications with external APIs, web services and legacy data sources.
• Articulate and manage tasks using software project tracking tools like codeBeamer, JIRA, or Rational Team Concert.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The successful candidate will have experience in the following:
• Exceptional communication skills in English – both written and oral – and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical IT stakeholders
• Proven experience developing enterprise-class Pega applications.
• Experience in all phases of software development lifecycle including analysis, design, implementation, testing and deployment.
• Strong Object-Oriented design and implementation skills.
• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
• Experience with design and development of UI’s using JavaScript, HTML and custom CSS Stylesheets.
• Experience in creating SOAP/REST connectors/services.
• Experience in Agile Development Methodology, especially PegaSCRUM.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Strong understanding of relational database design concepts
• At least 3 years’ specific experience as a Pega SSA.

• Pega CSSA certification
• Experience working for a federal government customer
