Retail Technical Architect/SME
This role is a 6-month assignment that will get likely extended, working as a lead Retail / Food SME familiar with POS, PIM, Item Master Management, Data Aggregation tools, and Data Interfaces.
The client is considering a new potential POS product partner, a new PIM tool for the Sell side of the operation, data aggregation products, and will need the following support:
- A technical retail Solution Architect who knows POS systems and data aggregation
- Use of PIM to create and manage a centralized sales item master, assortments, category management, and syndication
- Pricing, data visibility and audit process, improving clarity on spend data
- Helping to lead the definition of the architectural direction of a large Retail Transformation initiative.
This role will involve testing the Commerce Cloud functionality of the partner system, helping set it up, and framing test scripts to test it.
FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Critical Musts include experience in working in high profile project situations as a senior lead in a multi-vendor environment. Must be able to quickly ramp up on client approach. This is an onshore/onsite role.
First and foremost, strong candidates for this role will be proactive, senior problem solvers who have hands-on ability and analytical skills and perform at high levels, coordinating with IT and Business. The candidate must be able and comfortable with taking responsibility for this scope of work, and owning it. The client Director is extremely busy, and cannot afford to be the one leading every activity every step of the way.
• Hands-on experience with successful Point of Sale (POS) Replacement projects (at least one, more is preferable)
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior client staff and managers.
• Strong personal interaction, confidence, and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work collaboratively with Business partners and IT manager.
4+ years experience with Retail Point of Sale (POS) systems
Experience in the Retail Food Industry
Experience testing Retail POS systems
Good Customer Service and communication skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
Retail experience, Pont of Sale experience, Retail Food experience.
Assess POS system for suitability and adherence to requirements.
Ability to assess the technical aspects of potential solutions as they align with the client technical environment and direction.
Ability to lead and recommend solutions and approaches that best benefit the client’s technical roadmap and direction. Help shape that direction.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
