Operations Assistant Manager

Position Description
The Operations Assistant Manager shall directly support the Operations Manager in the management of all aspects of contractor-provided support services at the Bookprint Facility and ensures the flow of operations between all contractor-staffed positions. There shall be one operations assistant manager per shift.

Your future duties and responsibilities
-Must demonstrate excellent communications skills with all levels of management including the client (US Government Personnel)
- In coordination with the Operations Manager, implements the Management Plan and Corporate Quality Control policies to effectively direct contract support activities to ensure satisfactory conformance with contract provisions and performance metrics
-In coordination with the Operations Manager, assigns, schedules, and reviews work of production managers and supervisory staff
-Supports the Operations Manager in interpreting policies, purposes, and goals of the organization for subordinates and the monitoring of contractual expenditures budgets
-Supports the development and maintenance of succinct reporting methodology to ensure the Government personnel, Contracting Officer, and CA/PPT headquarters are informed of contractual performance
-Ensures transition work between the various processing sections
-Directs managers in resolution of all administrative, personnel, and operating problems associated with process management functions in order to assure timely issuance of travel documents and to meet Department of State goals
-Maintains constant oversight of production related materials and documents
-Interprets policies, procedures, and goals of the organization for managers and assigned staff
-Responsive to employees issues and helps to build team morale and cohesiveness
-Makes recommendations regarding staffing on all contract/sub contract staff
-Effectively communicates with the management team by taking the initiative to address procedure revisions, personnel issues, and workflow problems
-Evaluates and audits employees’ production for quality and quantity
-Facilitates quality improvement programs and ensures customer service levels meet or exceed goals
-Compiles and develops management reports including production performance reports utilizing Microsoft Office applications
-Verifies adherence to all DoS and Facility security regulations

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
-Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
-Bachelor degree- Business Administration or any Management concentration preferred
-Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive management experience in a tangible goods production environment
-Minimum of seven (7) years of management/supervisory experience at a company or facility of the size and scope of the Book Personalization Facilities
-Ability to prepare management, business, technical, and personnel reports, reviews and documents for internal and external use

Desired qualifications:
-Advanced Degree.
-Experience in managing a seasonal/temporary work force.
-Four (4) years’ experience in a production environment
-Experienced supervising production workers, supervising US Government employees, US Government contractors, or US Military. Knowledge of postal regulations a plus.
