Microsoft SQL Server Developer

Position Description
CGI is seeking an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Developer to join our office in Richmond Virginia supporting our local clients.
This person will work with our software development team by designing and deploying databases, stored procedures, complex queries, and SSIS/automation jobs. As such, we are seeking individuals that have at least three to five years of experience in the following areas: T-SQL or ANSI-SQL scripting languages supporting complex stored procedures; using ETL/DTS/SSIS; working knowledge of data warehouses/ Datamarts with complex database schemas; supporting SSRS; and performance tuning MS SQL Server 2016.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Working with data supporting a Financial Institution

- Implementing business rules validation and reporting/analytics requirements for our clients

- Implementing appropriate guidelines/standards

- Being an active and contributing part of a larger team

- Interacting with Business SMEs and Analysts to understand requirements

- Ability to spot any issue in provided script before running them in test/pre-prod environment

- Being an active and contributing part of a larger team and reporting into senior developers

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 3 to 5 years experience

- Experience using ETL/DTS/SSIS in SQL Server (2016) environments

- Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio, TFS 2015

- Systems analysis and functional design experience is required, along with a thorough knowledge of database concepts and relational databases

- Extensive experience working in structured change management processes for highly available database systems

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team

- Attention to details and ability to work well under pressure

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other applicable field
