Position Description
CGI is looking for a candidate who has 7+ years of experience in the skillset mentioned below for a Microservice Developer role in Windsor, CT. This is a critical role and candidate should have ability to look at the bigger picture (Architecture, Best practices for the team to adopt) apart from just acting as an individual contributor.

As an API and Microservices developer, you are part of a high-performance team focused on driving innovation, modernizing application infrastructure and improving delivery effectiveness by:

• Defining, refactoring and building integration-centric solutions in the context of transition from traditional, legacy platforms to service-oriented architectures

• Implementing multi-channel (Web & Mobile) API architecture offerings and providing differentiated end-user experiences by leveraging mobile platforms and other personal computing devices.

• Determining the right configuration of the integration platform and components to suit the application strategy and establishing the environment and instance strategy for integration platform environments.

• You will work closely within an agile, scrum-based team to understand the business domain and Mobile App requirements that drive analysis, architecture /design and development of APIs. These solutions cross a broad spectrum of technologies and must align with business and IT strategies, comply with the organization’s architectural standards and most importantly, delight the customer.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Provide technical expertise through a hands-on approach to develop RESTful services by adhering to Technical/Integration Architectures.

• Develop solutions using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns, automating business process models, API enabled gateway and multi/hybrid cloud based services

• Actively develop solutions to contribute to enterprise class integration and middleware software development best practices, standards and procedures. Lead prototyping activities, hands on.

• Assesses business problems, system needs, and the external system design. Participate in large-group, coordinated planning sessions, provides effort estimates and timeline commitments.

• Maintain cutting edge knowledge of current and emerging technologies, industry trends and standards.

• Collaborate effectively with others to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas and resolves technological disagreement with informed, rational and collaborative solutions.

• May work on logical and physical database designs where applicable for the given project.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Technologies and patterns that you will be exposed to: Python, NodeJS, Spring Boot, Apache Camel (for integration patterns), RESTful APIs and SOAP services, utilizing existing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery processes.

• Understanding of REST and SOAP APIs, JSON data, XSLT mappings, JSON Path, etc.

• Knowledge of API life cycle, microservices architecture and API definition/discovery

• Desire and ability to learn new systems and keep abreast with the current technologies.

• Database experience with MongoDB & Oracle.

• Well versed with exception handling and monitoring terminologies, both from business and data perspective. Experience working with Splunk is a plus.

• Prior Experience with LAMP/MEAN stack.

• Proficient in self-testing of applications, unit testing and use of mock frameworks, test-driven development (TDD).

You demonstrate strong initiative, follow-through and accountability in executing project responsibilities, overcoming obstacles and balancing multiple priorities effectively.

• You strive to make a positive impact through innovation in the pursuit of building amazing products that are enjoyable, easy to use and accessible across all platforms.

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science preferred.
