Linux Scripting/Database Sr. Developer

Position Description
CGI’s Global Wealth & Capital Markets group is looking for talented Linux Scripting expertise with leadership abilities to drive solution and delivery.

This is an opportunity to join our CGI’s Wealth360 team which delivers sophisticated and flexible Wealth Management solutions that supports all facets of fund accounting, portfolio and investment management.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Develop code and scripts to perform File Transfer (sftp), and database extracts
• Create data models, and ERD diagrams
• Create scheduled and adhoc background jobs in a UNIX/LINUX environment
• Contribute to the development of standards and processes
• Able to work in an agile environment that requires adaptation to changing digital transformation needs.
• Basic knowledge of Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, Lean and xTreme Programming.
Must Have Requirements:
• 5+ years of development (SQL / PL/SQL, Unix/Linux Scripting)
• 3+ years IT Industry experience in application development as a Sr. Developer or Lead
• Excellent understanding of key concepts of database developement in a distributed environment
• Solid experience in technology implementation: Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, exadata, Unix Shell scripting (Bash or KShell), cron jobs
• Experience in developing file transfer scripts
• Experience working with server side scripting: Perl or Bash or Korn Shell
• Programming experience with Oracle PL / SQL or MS SQL or SQL in general
• Solid experience in debugging and troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
• Proven ability to write high quality technical documentation

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Knowledgeable in Wealth Management domain, with experience in Fund Accounting preferred
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, applications and systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to facilitate technical sessions
• Can communicate in both technical and business terms
• Knowledge of any programming language is an asset
