Position description:

CGI has been selected to help large Public Sector customer with Technical Application Management for a large number of over 100 applications. The starting phase of the project is move and configuration of the applications to new infrastructure.

Your future responsibilities:

In this role you will be involved in supporting the “move and configuration” phase and further being responsible for Technical Application Support (mainly L2). Analysing and troubleshooting problems with applications based on received incidents. Whenever appropriate fixing by applying configuration or data patching or dispatching to other parties for code fixes.
Preparation of applications or new services for transfer to acceptance environment and transfer them to functional application management. Technical implementation (deployment) of the changes.
Part of your duties will be also identification and documentation of improvements that could be applied to the operations (of applications) and when appropriate (after consulting with leader) implementation

Required qulifications to be successful in this role:

Successful candidates should have the following skills:
- Preferably former background with application support
- Technical experience with Application Servers configuration and troubleshooting (IIS, Tomcat, Websphere, JBoss)
- Practical knowledge of scheduling tools (preferably Tivoli Workload Scheduler)
- Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux, nice to have AIX and corresponding scripting
- Experience with analyzing data in database (MS SQL Server, Oracle), SQL, data patching and nice to have experience with administration / configuration
- Hands on with installation and deployment of applications to various environments and nice to have knowledge of automatic deployment tools (e.g. XL Deploy)
- Acquaintance with systems and infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios) would be an advantage
- Knowledge of cloud technology as a plus
- Ability to learn and acquire new knowledge fast
