Position Description
Be part of something dynamic! Come and join our team. CGI is seeking a Project Manager Assistant with an in depth focus on managing project financials. The candidate will need to be analytical, organized and motivated to deliver accurate timely results and associated reports for the business. The candidate will assist the Delivery Managers responsible for operational support and work in a high paced and dynamic environment. You will get plenty of exposure working with key members of our San Diego and Southern CA regional delivery business, other business finance members, sector VPs and other senior members of the CGI leadership. You will also be actively encouraged to develop your skills and knowledge through both internal and external professional development to enable you to progress your career with us.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Supporting our San Diego projects, you will liaise closely with our leads, helping to ensure delivery of all forecasting reports in a timely manner and you will help them to understand the financial results. You will report directly to the region, ensuring they are fully supported and ready to tackle each month-end and budget forecast cycle.

Activities include:

• Follow established CGI accounting and reporting procedures for performing revenue calculations correctly in accordance w/Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and CGI Policies

• Complete revenue and expense analysis for monthly close in a timely manner to allow consolidation, review and submittal of results within CGI’s close due dates

• Performing detailed reporting and analyses of monthly financial information to include revenue and cost variances and trend analysis as well as proactively monitor large expenditures and swings in margin from month to month

• Provide timely and accurate financial analytical support for regularly scheduled and ad hoc requests from CGI management

• Participate in month-end financial close and reporting process for client accounts

• Work closely with Delivery Managers to maintain monthly forecasting and analyze variances to previous forecast and budget

• Manage client billing, AR and Unbilled to monitor recognition for Work in Progress (WIP) and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)

• Support project reviews, opportunity, and delivery review meetings as well as ongoing audits with accurate financial data and value-added financial analyses

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You will be fully qualified and able to demonstrate experience of interacting directly with clients and non-finance personnel. You also should be able to show experience in reviewing accounts, identifying trends and work with the business to improve on these as necessary.

As an energetic professional, you are a self-starter with strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a good understanding of forecasting, budgeting, and operational/financial accounting concepts. Revenue recognition and a sound understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and revenue recognition would be a plus but not required in this role, you bring experience reviewing a contract with a customer, understanding deliverables to the client and how this impacts how we can recognize revenue.

Desired skills include:

• Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to changing priorities

• Ability to perform successfully under limited supervision

• Experience in finance, accounting, Excel proficiency, revenue recognition, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge and use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
