Position Description
This is an exciting full-time opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a team of passionate technologists. The Java Developer will work in conjunction with onsite and offsite teams to resolve critical client issues and propose technology solutions that will benefit a mission critical project.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Diagnose application, infrastructure, and technology issues, define an appropriate solution, support the resolution, and document the incident
• Translate functional designs into technical designs
• Perform impact analysis to determine all the portions of the application which will need updating to implement the proposed changes
• Develop and unit test code in accordance with the defined technical designs
• Create unit test plans which detail test conditions and expected results
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code
• Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with application development standards, technical requirements, and designed specifications
• Test code changes and resolve differences between expected and actual results
• Prepare and produce releases of software components
• Verify team deliverables
• Deploy updated application to testing and/or development environments
• Assist with troubleshooting technical problems and issues
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for technical review
• Mentor junior developers and other technical resources to ensure compliance to standards and quality

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• All applicants selected for hire must possess US citizenship and be eligible for a SECRET security clearance, per client requirements. An interim Secret clearance is required to begin working onsite with our client, and a Secret clearance must be maintained throughout the project duration
• BS in Computer Science or related IT field
• 5+ years of experience in Java Development
• Proven hands-on Software Development experience
• Proven working experience in Java development
• Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms
• Object-oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL (to pull data from the database) and Object-Relational Mapping technologies. SQL experience is critical
• Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework
• Experience with JQuery library
• Designing and developing custom software solutions
• Experience writing well designed, testable, efficient code
• Experience translating functional requirements into functional and technical design specifications
• Experience performing impact analysis to successfully create and execute effective technical designs
• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members
• Sun Certified Java Developer Preferred, but not required
