Position Description
The Primary activities for this Dev OPS positon is to support in scope all Global Equity Trading applications.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Incident, Problem & Change Management:

• Continual Service Management, Disaster Recovery Planning & Testing

• Implementation of roadmap, risk & control and regulatory functionality, including development, testing and deployment.

• Application decommission task, including business data transfer to archive systems.

L2 user & platform support:

• Investigate application-related system and user requests, resolve or coordinate resolution of issues. Efficient in communication with traders, strong understanding of business language and business workflows beneficial.

• Work with all facets of Infrastructure, Vendor, Development & External teams on issues requiring deeper investigation, coordinate resolution and provide feedback to users

L3 platform maintenance:

• Experience of managing and maintaining apps running on Unix based platforms and Oracle / Sybase databases.

• Strong Unix skills including scripting and server management.

• Java, C & C++ code maintenance, along with SQL & stored procs.

• Experience using Dev Ops tools and automation of backend server tasks.

• Managing, deploying and supporting releases

• Strong analytical and technical background with good problem solving skills.

• Good understanding of SDLC & Agile.

Additional items:

• On-call support could be required on a rotational basis both during the week and at weekends.

• Ensure MIS and workflow tools used e.g. JIRA and ServiceNow to track and demonstrate the overall quality of services

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Strong technical and business knowledge in the disciplines mentioned below are a pre-requisite, as well as excellent analytical reasoning and practical decision making, combined with an ability to communicate across a broad range of business functions and at all levels of the organization.

• L2 support experience & L3 app maintenance

• Stakeholder and people management skills

• Business knowledge of Equity markets/flow

• Strong technical & working knowledge of Linux, Databases (Oracle and/or Sybase), Perl/Python (any other scripting knowledge is acceptable), & Agile.

• C, C++ & Java languages predominantly used in Equities apps

- Experience supporting Equities trading in Investment Banking

- Knowledge of customer platforms and inter-dealer broker markets, understanding of market connectivity and publish/subscribe technologies.

There is often a great deal of urgency associated with resolving incidents and candidates need to be able to prioritize proactively when resource conflicts arise.

• Temperament to work under pressure in a fast moving production environment

• Confident in dealing with senior members of Front office, other business functions and IT management

• Ability to liaise with both Business and IT users in a clear manner

• Strong communication & problem ownership skills and attitude

• Inquisitive problem solving approach
