Position Description
Due to ongoing growth and success in the province of BC, CGI is seeking an experienced architect to join our world-class IT organization in a permanent full-time role in either our Burnaby or our Victoria, BC office. This role will provide business architecture services to our public sector clients.

We are seeking a talented individual with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within an Enterprise Architecture program, and with a strong business focused background, who understands how to develop business architecture. The ideal candidate will thrive in a consulting environment and be familiar with the business and IT alignment challenges that face public sector clients. A focus on continuous improvement and organization change management practices will be beneficial, as will the knowledge and expertise to effectively communicate our clients’ business goals to the EA team to foster alignment across the architecture domains.

The person who fills this position will be joining a growing Enterprise Architecture services team with a mandate to work across the BC business unit’s public sector engagements including Health, Education, Justice, and Natural Resources. As part of tis team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced colleagues in both business and technical architecture domains, while working on projects vital to the successful growth of our public sector partnerships. You will also have the opportunity to help us build new business architecture services to offer our clients.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Work in a team-oriented environment, providing architectural/business expertise and guidance to key stakeholders

- Participate in the development of EA services, bringing creativity and a seasoned business perspective to initiatives and teams

- Develop and validate capability models and value streams

- Guide clients in understanding the value of business architecture in realising their strategic plans and business goals

- Make recommendations on how to govern the use of business architecture

- Assist our clients in application road-mapping and portfolio management

- Guide architects and other resources (technical and non-technical) in aspects of the business architecture practice

- Follow client-based policies and procedures, such as organization change management, project governance, repository maintenance, etc. where instructed to do so

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 3+ years’ experience in implementing business architecture

- Knowledge of:

- the relationship between business architecture and the other architecture domains

- one or more architecture frameworks / methodologies

- repository tools such as Sparx EA or Orbus

- Experience working with external partners / vendors

- Writing clear, well-organized, business-focussed documents such as strategies, proposals, business cases, decision notes, etc.

Preferred experience:

- Developing organizational change management plans

- Application portfolio road-mapping

- Business process modelling

- Workshop facilitation

- Business requirements elicitation

- Building and delivering presentations
