Position Description
We are looking to hire a BI / Data Architect to join our team in Lafayette, Louisiana or Bloomfield, Connecticut.

Join an exciting CGI client project and high-functioning team as a BI Architect / Data Analyst. This position and will play an integral role in providing insight into business trends through reporting and data analysis.

Your future duties and responsibilities
This role is responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the Business Intelligence platform/applications and associated dashboards to be used for reporting and analytical purposes. The candidate should possess technology skills with excellent data analysis skills. Candidates must have extensive experience understanding data and retention policies of the client and translating the results into a dashboard view that can tell a good story about the state of the data.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
7+ years in OLTP/OLAP database construction, Relational/Multi-Dimensional Data Warehouse design, Business Intelligence development and Database Administration

Experience in data ingestion, transformation type solutions - design and development to consolidate, standardize and load the data from legacy data systems including SQL Server, XML, Excel, Flat Files

Experienced in Multi-Dimensional Data Warehouse design and development, creating tables, procedures, and views to remodel the transactional data to the multi-dimensional DW.

Highly proficient in database design and development including ongoing maintenance and support of existing solutions.

User Interface/Dashboard Design and Development.

Unit and Integration Testing. Includes Debugging and bug fixing

Experience with data loading and archival on large data sets.

Experience with data normalization and unifying different data schemas.

Experience with data visualizations using commercial systems (Power BI, Tableau, Looker etc.).

The candidate needs to be able to work with a range of technologies including dashboards, databases (relational as well as modern no-sql ones), and specific technologies including:
Database Systems: MySQL or other Relational databases

BI Tools: MS Power BI or other visualization/BI tools (i.e. Tableau, Qlikview etc.)

Applications: SharePoint, MS Office, Visual Studio

Languages: SQL, Python

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration or other related fields.
