Where the Chemistry Happens…

To provide the opportunity for work experience in the engineering field for the student while working on valued added projects for the Saskatoon site. The incumbent will be working on productivity improvements, cost savings projects or capital projects under the supervision of the project engineer. This will require participation in the coordination with production, maintenance, technical, capital investment, health and safety, ecology, quality assurance, and working closely with production operators.

Formula for Success: You Will…

·  Support of Capital Project work for detailed Engineering (P&ID’s, PFD’s, Specification Sheets, etc.)
·  Support of site operations (troubleshooting, optimization, supervision, etc.)
·  Support of optimization initiatives
·  The employee will report to the Manufacturing Engineer, however will receive additional technical support from FTN resources via the Technical Site Services Manager for Canada.
·  The employee, when needed, be available to work over time, shift work and weekends.
·  The employee will assume additional tasks and duties as assigned by management.
·  Provide direction, coaching, counseling and development of the Engineering Intern(s)
·  Complete performance evaluations for Interns.
·  Work will be conducted in all site buildings and on all site equipment.
·  Technicians to ensure that work is completed in a safe and cost-efficient manner.
·  The employee may be asked to assume responsibility for some security and control of the facility on the off-shifts.
·  The employee will complete Non-conformance reports (NCMs) as well as lead investigations as necessary.
·  This position requires a daily interaction with all Associates on site.
·  The employee will be responsible for completing all yearly performance reviews and recommendations to the Production Manager.

Qualifications

Qualifications
· COOP Engineering Student, preferably in Chemical, Biological, or Mechanical Engineering
· Strong interpersonal skills are required to interface with all levels of the organization

· Strong technical skills to help troubleshoot problems in the different manufacturing areas

· Project development experience from initial justification through construction supervision and start- up
