The opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to join our innovation team at Longerenong where you will play a key role in developing and testing new wheat varieties for the Australian market. As our Wheat Breeder you will actively develop new germplasm, design testing, conduct experiments and articulate your findings.
You will utilise your breeding experience and knowledge of molecular breeding to drive innovation in our wheat breeding program. You will utilise and enhance our genomic selection tools and build on our existing capability in hybrid wheat seed. As a key industry stakeholder your will also actively build mutually beneficial relationships with our research and tertiary partners.

What we are looking for
·  PhD or Master’s in Plant Breeding, Quantitative Genetics, Molecular Breeding or similar
·  Experience or knowledge of breeding methods, trial designs, data analysis and molecular markers
·  Experience in breeding cereal crops (eg. wheat, barley, oats, etc)
·  Demonstrated analytical skills
