Tax Counsel, Florham Park

 

Where the Chemistry Happens

The Tax Attorney holds a JD degree, LLM/Masters Tax and CPA (preferred) and assists the Director of International Tax / Tax Counsel with respect to international and domestic tax issues including BEAT, GILTI, FDII, Subpart F income, foreign tax credits, e&p, PTEP, consolidations, partnerships, disregarded entities, pensions and benefits, etc.  S/he manages US international and cross-border tax planning projects. S/he develops planning and structuring of acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations throughout the company including contract drafting and review. S/he researches tax legislation and conducts due diligence for M&A activity.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success : Capitalizing on your 10 years of corporate tax experience in either a Big 4 and/or law firm, coupled with your strong research and writing skills and your experience in international and domestic tax, and M&A, you will make a significant impact while imparting your….           
M&A, research, and planning skills, taking a lead role and interacting with appropriate stakeholders

Contract review and clause drafting via varying business group transactions while minimizing tax exposure and maximizing tax benefits

Legislative vigilance utilizing BASF Resources and joining various groups (e.g. OFII, NAM, ACC. etc.)

International Compliance and Review which ensures planning is accurately implemented and reviewed in BASF’s compliance function, e.g. FTCs, 5471, disregarded entities, etc.
