Where the Chemistry Happens…
  Shipping Technician - 2002442 – Fremont, CA

  Perform Packaging and Shipping department standard operating procedures as outlined.

Effectively communicate with site personnel on daily ship schedule and shipping personnel readiness.

Load and unload vendors and carrier trucks as outlined by site procedures.

Prepare and verify shipping documents for international and domestic shipments.

Perform general warehouse duties.
Maintain packaging supplies Coordinate and collaborate with shipping supply vendors for best packaging methods and materials.

Conduct routine safety and equipment inspections. Participate in team activities in support of plant improvements and safety initiatives.

Fully trained in Receiving duties.

Formula for Success: You Will…
  Maintain a clean and safe work environment free of clutter and hazards

Utilize and maintain virtual ship list with accurate/up to date information and utilize said ship list to plan and execute the daily orders from all departments

Effectively communicate with site personnel on all matters pertaining to shipping to maintain on time delivery of pre-negotiated delivery dates

Perform general warehouse duties that may include, routine safety and equipment inspections, perform equipment preventive maintenance activities,

Effectively communicate with Planners on daily recourse needs for shipping

Effectively communicate with customer service on shipping criteria for Incoterm on international orders.

Coordinate with Rome, Italy and Singapore plants on best practices for shipping to Asia and Europe

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

Basic Qualifications 
  High School Diploma or GED is required

2 years of warehouse experience required

 
Preferred Qualifications

SAP experience highly desirable Strong team orientation with proven safety performance and process troubleshooting knowledge

Self-driven with a strong work ethic.
Strong organizational skills Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision.

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Detailed oriented – ability to handle tasks free of errors. Ability to assess departmental machine set-ups, safe equipment operation, and product quality.

Ability to recognize and implement improvement to shipping methods and materials.
