Job description



The Process Research and Chemical Engineering Research Division brings together a variety of competencies, including inorganic chemistry, organic synthesis, battery research, catalysis, process development and technology, as well as technical services for laboratories/technical centers. In interdisciplinary global teams, we develop innovative products, processes and technologies for a sustainable future and work with internal and external customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an integral part of our synthetic research departments, you will propel the research and development of basic chemicals and intermediates forward.

·  Along with searching for new products, a strong focus will be placed on developing new processes and procedures as well as optimizing established ones for a variety of applications.
·  You will work on multi-step organic syntheses from initial screening in the laboratory up to scale production.
·  An integral part of your work will be the evaluation of analytical methods as well as the documentation and presentation of the results of your research.
·  You will work in close contact with internal partners in R&D, Production and Marketing as well as collaborate on projects with universities and external research institutes.
·  While accomplishing your tasks, you will also continue to develop your entrepreneurial and personal skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  PhD in Chemistry or equivalent degree
·  In depth knowledge of organic synthesis or homogeneous catalysis and profound knowledge of preparative organic chemistry
·  Good IT application skills in standard chemistry software and the willingness to learn German
·  Team player with an entrepreneurial mindset
·  Distinctive proactiveness as well as strong communication skills and a high target-orientation
