Research and Development Technician II (1902641) – Beachwood, OH

Where the Chemistry Happens

The primary function of Research and Development Technician is to provide necessary technical support to the development and maintenance of advanced chemical formulations for new construction, preservation, repair or renovation of structures. The incumbent provides support to advance-level technicians, scientists and managers through the performance of industry-related technical and organizational activities.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success

·  High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field is preferred.
·  Minimum 2 years of experience with construction materials testing and coatings in a lab environment. Experience related to mortars and grouts is a plus.
·  Willing to learn from senior teammates on lab work and testing.
·  Must be able to follow standard test protocols, such as ASTM and other industry standards.
·  Must be hands on and willing to help maintaining labs, chemicals, and storage areas.
·  Works with team members supporting development projects and other tasks as assigned.
·  Travels to plants in the U.S. for trials and troubleshooting.
·  Highly safety oriented.
·  Knows Fork lift operation or willing to get certification to operate.
·  Must be able to lift 50 lbs as a part of routine work in the lab.
