Quality Control Lab Supervisor (2000424) – Manati, Puerto Rico
 

Where the Chemistry Happens  

 

We are seeking a professional like you to lead QC Chemistry activities associated with the testing, approval and release of Company products. The QC Lab Supervisor will also be responsible for the training, supervision and performance of QC laboratory technicians and supporting the wider Quality Unit.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success

Leveraging your bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or other relevant discipline AND a minimum of three years of demonstrated analytical laboratory experience you will ensure all QC activities at the site comply with the relevant legal and Agricultural Products BASF requirements. Previous supervisory experience will be preferred as you lead and develop a team of QC laboratory technicians responsible for supporting operating units, train in test methods and validate technician proficiency while meeting and exceeding organizational objectives. Demonstrating your knowledge and analytical skills you will determine product release statuses by reviewing and interpreting data, resolving analytical discrepancies, and supporting site chemist’s efforts to improve analytical methodology using existing or new instrumentation. Your unwavering commitment to workplace safety will be evident as you support site quality standards, safe laboratory operations and good laboratory practices (GLP). Your strong organization, project management skills and keen attention to detail will aid you as you lead/contribute to investigations related to product non-conformances to ensure true root cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Demonstrated lab experience in chromatography, spectroscopy and wet chemical techniques AND in-depth knowledge of analytical methodology and instrumentation (e.g. HPLC, HPLC-MS, NIR spectroscopy) is highly desirable. A Chemist license in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico is required for this role.
