Quality Analyst (2002448) – Sparks, GA  

 

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to ensure the quality of products by leading the Biological and Microbial Contamination (MC) Labs in support of the manufacturing process and conduct routine and nonroutine testing of intermediates and final products.  In this role, you will manage various laboratory support activities, including preparations of medias and reagents, inventory management of laboratory supplies and consumables and training of lab technicians. You will also provide support to the Site Chemist for method validation/verification and routine instrument troubleshooting.

The Quality Analyst is primarily an 8hr / day-shift position working Monday - Friday. Some training responsibility may occur during the early morning shift. This position will participate in the On-Call schedule responsibilities in the lab.

Formula for Success


·     Leveraging your education in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related science field and your Biological Laboratory experience, you will conduct method transfer, train and document new Biological methods as clearly written SOPs for lab technicians to follow in routine analysis of final product. You will also document the validation of existing or transferred methods as needed.

·     Successfully engaging within the organization, you will assist the Site Chemist with Validation/Verification/Development/Documentation of chemical and enzymatic analytical methods as needed. You will also monitor equipment servicing in Biological and MC laboratories and coordinate with Lab Management to schedule routine maintenance and repairs as needed, as well as escalate Out-of-Spec materials to Lab Management for review.

·     Your understanding of proper chemical handling, use, storage and disposal will be critical as you coordinate the shipment of various samples to third party laboratories as needed for analysis.

·     Demonstrating your proficiency in laboratory techniques, including but not limited to hands-on use of Microbiology equipment, HPLC and wet Chemistry methods, you will analyze routine raw material, in-process, and finished good samples by using various microbiological and analytical lab equipment and techniques, including manual plating or using spiral plater, colony counter, pipetting for serial dilutions, HPLC, etc.).

·     Utilizing your strong computer skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel) and your strong analytical ability, you will provide timely and accurate documentation of all biological data according to Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs). You will also serve as Primary Reviewer for data generated from the Biological and MC labs.

·     Relying on your experience in a lab environment (supervisory and/or QC lab experience preferred), you will serve as primary trainer for other QC Laboratory Technicians in the Biological and Microbial Contamination Labs, and update & provide training records to Lab Management.

·     Your robust troubleshooting and problem-solving ability will aid you in providing troubleshooting support to Production as necessary.  You will also perform special request sampling and testing as requested to help troubleshoot production issues.

·     Your solid organizational skills will serve you well as you manage laboratory inventory of biological consumables such as media, plates, pipettes, glassware, spare parts, etc.  Experience using autoclave and automated plate pourer a plus.

·     Your strong knowledge of microbiological aseptic and analytical techniques will be essential as you identify and implement process improvement in laboratory workflows.
