Production Technician - PMC (2000511) – Seneca, SC

Principle Responsibilities:
• Follow process according to procedures, performs housekeeping, records quality data legibly, and routine entry of samples.
• Setup and operate equipment related to grind, blend, sample processes and panning operations.
• Break filter presses.
• Move and dump drums.
• Operate a forklift
• Operates various chemical batch process equipment (i.e. pneumatic transfer pumps, and reactors) in a safe manner.
• Keeps accurate Batch/Run sheets in order to maintain good metal control
• Follows all safety regulations.
• Maintains acceptable housekeeping standards in work area.
• Problem solving and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations associated with a chemical operation
• Knowledge of proper material handling procedures
• Must wear chemical suits, chemical gloves, respirator, and all other associated PPE
• Work a 12 hour shift
• Manual dexterity, ascend, descend steps, stairs and/or ladder
• Oral and written skills to communicate and maintain accurate record
• Lift 50 lbs., walk, sit, squat, bend, push/pull with arms/legs, body, reach overhead and stoop, stand for long periods of time
• Able to work in variable climate temperatures
EHS:
• Adhere to established safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in incident investigations.
• Accomplish day-to-day and recurring EHS activities
• Safety suggestions
• Proactive hazard recognition and EHS issues
• Attend and participate in Safety meetings
• Waste management activities

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in chemical manufacturing
• Experience operating a forklift
