Where the Chemistry Happens

The Dispersions & Resins business of BASF develops, produces and markets a range of high-quality resins, additives, colorants and polymer dispersions worldwide. These raw materials are used in formulations for coatings and paints, printing and packaging products, adhesives, construction chemicals, nonwovens, and paper manufacturing.

As a member of the Dispersions & Resins North American Product Safety & Stewardship team, you will serve as a trusted partner and advisor to your business segment stakeholders supporting the Printing & Packaging, Adhesives and Paper Coatings industries. You will directly contribute to the success of our business by supporting business strategies and new product launches, steering your segments to address new and changing regulations as well as industry trends, and by helping customers to understand and demonstrate compliance to relevant chemical regulations. This dynamic position is expected to lead in cross-functional environments with Business Management, Marketing, Product Management, Technical Service, R&D, Quality, Toxicology, and Product Regulatory colleagues in North America as well as with global regulatory contacts in Europe, Asia Pacific and Central & South America.

Participating in industry associations and monitoring changes in the regulatory environment, you will identify and manage strategic issues, assess product and market risks, and steer sustainable portfolio development. Leveraging your breadth of product regulatory and stewardship expertise, you will support customers to understand and adhere to evolving regulations and requirements. Engaging with internal partners and suppliers, you will support Management of Change activities reviewing and communicating the impact on product stewardship topics and actively managing issues to resolution. Demonstrating your leadership capabilities, you will mentor and develop team members to enhance business understanding, maximize efficiency and exhibit intense customer focus. Flexing your agile communication skills, you will translate complex regulations into easily digestible messaging to educate and inform customers and internal colleagues. Connecting your understanding of product applications and markets with known hazards, you will characterize product risk along the value chain and implement risk management controls in accordance with BASF’s Responsible Care commitment.
