IT Technical Expert

Job description

Job Objective & Key Responsibilities

·  Act as expert for IT teams in the plan, design, and delivery of IT solutions
·  Attend regular IT infrastructure team meetings (regional and local) for knowledge sharing and cross site alignment
·  Advise teams of IT technology standard requirements, methodology and processes
·  Develop enterprise standards to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-vendor platforms
·  Ensure deliverables are compliant with the IT architecture and standards, and SLAs
·  Contribute preparation of statements of work and structural design principles
·  Drive short and long term architecture strategy for the overall IT project portfolio for key business segments
·  Provide additional support for incidents and problems in designated areas of expertise
·  Provide input to IT implementation budgets for ERP, business applications and infrastructure
·  Comment to sign off on project milestones in terms of technical readiness and compatibility with as is technical landscape
·  Monitor release management process and user acceptance testing

 

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education

·  A Bachelors Degree in computer science, MIS, engineering or related field or equivalent work experience. Master of Science Degree is a plus

Experience

·  5 years’ experience in managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting service and network areas.
·  Ability to write architectural design documents or review design documents provided by others
·  Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural and technical needs

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

·  Must have a thorough knowledge of the Windows concepts, Domains, Active Directory and its concepts, and the interaction between hardware, operating systems, network, data center, and application software, Linux and Unix is a plus
·  Deep understanding of TCP, IP and other network protocols. Familiarity with DNS, DHCP and other network services
·  Knowledge of COBIT, ITIL, ISO or NIST, Quality Management standards and best practices
·  Knowledge of disc storage Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certifications and knowledge of Cisco or alternative network and voice gears and technologies
·  Advanced Proficiency in  English Language
