Job description



The Global Engineering Services Division is responsible for the implementation of BASF's plant construction projects. We advise and support the various corporate divisions by providing expert services throughout the plant's life cycle, such as automation, process or mechanical engineering. We push forward innovations in all areas of the chemical industry - and turn laboratory developments into worldwide production plants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In our Construction Management unit, you will spend four to six months on exciting tasks starting January 2021, where you can contribute your technical knowledge. Our unit is responsible for the construction management of large capital projects in the Europe Region. You will work on an interdisciplinary basis across project phases.

·  Among others, you will support the construction management in the organizational further development of planning processes, and will also be involved in the advancement of digitization for the field of construction.
·  You will be involved in the monitoring of construction completion and in the turnover of project documentations as well as the coordination of the hand-over to BASF Operations and will gain insight into the preparations for commissioning the facility.
·  Furthermore you get a chance to actively participate in crane studies, plant and equipment safety concepts as well as contractor management and will put the planning requirements into practice.
·  You get the opportunity to participate in the material management in both conceptual and operational terms and will assist in drafting as well as negotiating contracts with the construction and assembly firms.
·  Our subject area will also give you insight into the other disciplines (piping, E&I, mechanical, civil etc.), and you will get to know the subjects of environmental protection, plant and equipment safety, occupational safety and quality management.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  Enrolled in a technical or engineering-related study program
·  Interested in the new construction of large-scale chemical facilities
·  Expertise in MS Office
·  Proficient communication in German and English
·  High level of personal initiative as well as engagement
·  Independent working style
·  Ability to connect with others even in challenging situations
·  Enjoyment of working as part of a team in order to achieve goals together
