Internal Communications and Community Involvement Specialist– Dispersions & Resins

The Internal Communications and Community Involvement Specialist develops and implements the division internal communications strategy and activities for BASF’s Dispersions & Resins (EDN) division. The Specialist also supports the development and implementation of Business Unit-specific internal messaging ensuring alignment with the Global OD and BASF strategy. The specialist will develop all internal communications ensuring alignment with Dispersions & Resins vision and consistency with BASF values and key messaging.  The specialist will coordinate internally to establish volunteerism opportunities and relationships with approved organizations.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success
Leveraging your journalism, communication, media relations or related experience, you will lead the development and execution of progressive internal communications program.  Develop digital internal communication tools and tactics for the division, such as online a publications, internal newsletters, internal broadcasts, intranet, and digital signage all aimed at supporting the EDN culture and driving employee engagement. Your creative skills will be tapped to redesign, digitalize and manage the monthly EDN newsletter to include management of content, assist with story development and digital distribution to the EDN organization. Alignment with EDN Human Resources to support their regional internal communication objectives to include material development (design, message development and print production). Creative redesign, digitization and ongoing management of the EDN intranet site to include creation of new pages (HR and project specific) and ensuring timely and up to date information from the region and OD. Working closely with EDN’s Employee Resource Groups, establish and manage a quarterly schedule of selected volunteer opportunities (need based, science focused at schools, etc) with the goal of further strengthening our culture and internal relationships. Your organizational and influencing skills will be key to managing and producing employee meetings and broadcasts which will enable sustainable open communications between management. This will result in the development of impactful employee communications materials and messaging. Your proven ability to work closely with leaders (executive, business, or similar leaders) will ensure successful communication projects and strategies.  Delivering strategic and tactical communications will keep colleagues engaged, empowered and well-informed about business unit and divisional strategies. Supporting communication activities with global communications team members, you will provide support to ensure alignment, message, and experience consistency. Communicate our regional success stories, business accomplishments, and human-interest stories to Corporate and the division as appropriate. In alignment with marketing communications and digital marketing strategies, produce interactive media and videos with internal employees for use in social media campaigns and editorial efforts. Interacting with external vendors, you will ensure high-quality, cost-effective production of graphics, photography, internal publications, videos, etc. This includes management of associated budgets and vendor relationships Your ability to monitor and measure the effectiveness of communications through digital analytics, surveys and other key performance indicators, will be key as you make data-driven recommendations.
