What You'll Be Doing - Provides expertise to the maintenance team to maintain electrical systems and equipment. Maintains a primary focus within maintenance, but can work with other such technicians/mechanics/engineers/vendors/contractors across site to seek best practices for electrical installations.

·  Provides direct assistance in the troubleshooting of electrical system problems and initiate the repair. Perform PM’s as directed. Interface with electrical vendors for maintenance and other related activities. 
·  Monitor Motor Control Center and equipment reliability and performance.
·  Maintain a high level of technical expertise on electrical systems and standards.
·  May be involved in the installation and commissioning of capital projects.
·  Work with the Team to generate cost savings ideas that reduce the Total Cost of Ownership.
·  Work with the Team to ensure safety of the electrical systems and all personnel.
·  Support and adhere to the principles of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® by protecting the environment, health, safety and security of our employees, contractors, carriers, distributors, visitors, customers and neighbors.  Be knowledgeable of and follow all Environmental, Health and Safety practices including but not limited to: manage waste movements according to satellite and/or 90-day accumulation requirements, inspect air contaminant sources and institute corrective action for out-of-spec conditions, prevent releases into the sewer and/or stormwater systems by following BMPs (best management practices), activate BASF emergency response procedures in case of spills or other emergencies.Comply with the requirements of the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Shine With Colors & Effects! Do You Have What It Takes?

 

Required

·  High school education and equivalent experience.
·  Relevant experience in Operations, Engineering, or Maintenance in the chemical or refining industries.
·  Experienced in the engineering, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of one or more of the following: Motors, motor control systems, electrical devices, electrical supplies, field instrumentation, control valves, process analyzers, process control systems.
·  Experience with electrical systems from low voltage DC to 480V AC.
·  Ability to read and update electrical and instrument documents such as schematics, specifications, control diagrams, P&IDs, and one-line diagrams.
·  Good troubleshooting skills.
·  Good working knowledge of chemical plant equipment and technologies.
·  A good understanding of working within the rules of safety and environmental policies.
·  Good oral and written communication skills.
·  Good computer skills.

Bonus Points

·  Do you have experience installing, programming and troubleshooting variable speed drives? Great!
·  Journeyman's Electrician's License for the State of Delaware is a plus.
