Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) (1902656) – Freeport, TX

Where the Chemistry Happens

Under the direction of the Site HR Operations and Workforce Development Sr. Manager, you will hold a hands-on operational role responsible for providing full cycle Human Resources support to the assigned business group and/or functions within the Freeport Site. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational HR management activities including: employee relations, training, policy interpretation and implementation, legal compliance, organizational development, talent management, and performance management. You will partner with business and/or functional leadership to provide comprehensive human resources services including counseling, coaching and guidance while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and BASF policies. You will also provide support to employees. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to employee relations, legal compliance, recruitment & selection, policies & procedures, training & career development, performance management, talent review administration, organizational development, organizational exits, projects, HR initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Additionally, you will serve as a trusted and collaborative advisor in providing proactive, practical and valued HR partnership to business leaders and managers while ensuring alignment with business initiatives and culture. Strong skills in building relationships, diagnosing, advising, influencing and guiding managers on HR programs and processes that facilitate change and optimize the contributions and engagement level of employees will be key in this role.

· Provide advice and counsel to business leaders and managers on talent management, employee engagement, retention, performance management, organization development, etc.

· Provide guidance and direction to managers for issue resolution and improved employee performance.

· Evaluate employee relations and work-related issues and develops appropriate solutions within the framework of BASF policy and procedures.

· Advocate, promote and effectively manage the site environment, evaluating the site culture and employee relations issues; and ensure that management is aware of and proactively responds to employee engagement issues.

· Interpret and ensure compliance and administration of employment laws and policies such as FLSA, FLMA, EEO, Workers Compensation etc.

Implement and monitor Human Resources policies and procedures. Interpret and ensure compliance to BASF standards. Coordinate and manage training, development, talent reviews and succession planning activities, ensuring appropriate plans are in place for key employees. Engage the organization to enable cross developmental opportunities for employees. Identify and analyze internal and external trends, determining training needs for the site and translates the requirements into training and development programs. Coordinate and integrate the Talent Management process to include detailed analysis of potential talent gaps and development of career plans. Anticipate workforce planning / management issues and develop workforce strategies. Coordinate and manage the performance management process, ensuring clear communication to the organization, compliance, consistency and objectivity. Provide leadership to ensure performance review evaluations are administered fairly and effectively. In alignment with Talent Acquisition, support and assist in the recruitment and selection process to ensure positions are filled on a timely basis with highly qualified candidates. Participate on interview panels and drive/support D&I challenge and goals Collaborate with leadership in solving work related issues such as job design or organizational structure, giving or obtaining coaching/counseling, developing and implementing solutions and evaluating results. Support the business needs by applying frameworks, methods and tools to align process, structure and people systems. Support, implement and maintain appropriate BASF compensation and benefit processes and programs. Support the development of job descriptions, job analysis, analyzing salary surveys to monitor internal equity and market competitiveness. Coordinate the process to ensure appropriate approvals and communicate recommended annual salary increase guidelines. Manage business and HR-related projects/initiatives and drive their implementation in alignment with the business strategy. Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree required (Human Resources, Business Administration or other related discipline preferred)

· PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP designation preferred

· Minimum of eight (8) years of professional Human Resources business partner/generalist experience within a multi-location business model

· Strong coaching, facilitation, conflict management skills

· Strong employee relations experience

· Previous experience in working within a fast paced, full service business environment.

· Proactive, pragmatic and solutions-oriented business partnering approach.

· Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. local, state and federal laws and governmental compliance requirements.

· Demonstrated knowledge of current and progressive principles and practices of human resources management.

· Demonstrated ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, and counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures and other business issues.

· Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written), interact, and influence with all levels including production technicians, staff associates, managers and leaders.

· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.

· Demonstrated use of sound judgment and ability to make decisions in a fair & consistent manner.

· Act independently regarding various operational activities and interacts with manager usually on a consulting and reporting basis.

· Success in creating and driving effective employee relations, development, and retention programs

· A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the “pulse” of the employees to ensure a high level of engagement

· Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment

· Coaching and mentoring at management level

· Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment

· Strong solutions focus and being comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions

· Strong internal and external customer service focus

· The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously – oriented to results

· Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization
