What you can expect

 

The primary purpose of this role is to do business development for the Construction Portfolio of the Performance Materials Division of BASF. The initial focus will be on successfully launching the Elastopave product into the South African market. Duties will include the following:

 

·  Analyse and map the South African Market potential and conduct market surveys for the allocated portfolio and document market attractiveness.
·  Develop a market/customer/competitor database for the portfolio.
·  Promote PM’s product and service offering by leveraging relationships with industry bodies and government departments.
·  Manage and maintain customer relationships and customer portfolios, commercial and technical negotiations, and tender participation.
·  Ensure continued pursuit of market intelligence and research for identifying market trends and competitor activities in the South African market.
·  Manage internal and external networking with relevant stakeholders within the assigned industries.
·  Identify and initiate contact with key decision-makers in target organizations in the Construction Industry.
·  Manage and monitor market intelligence, market trends and competitor activities in the South African market.
·  Assume full responsibility for all business aspects of assigned responsibility.
·  Accurate on-time reporting (e.g. monthly reports, forecasts, market data).
·  Developing and managing a pipeline of projects identified for future sales.
·  Developing of business plans and execution strategies for targeted opportunities.

 

What we expect

 

·  Tertiary qualification in civil engineering, or chemistry or chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering
·  At least 5 years’ business development and sales experience in the assigned industries
·  Understanding of the Construction industry and preference will be given to civil engineer with experience in road construction/water management systems
·  ·Strong communication skills in English
·  MS Office and presentation skills
·  Drivers license (obligatory) with own tranport.
