Cloud Technology Mid - Level Developer (2000769) – Southfield, MI / Whitehouse, OH

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to create cloud-based applications used by our customers to generate revenue for BASF in Southfield, MI or Whitehouse, OH. While other projects may be diverse and forthcoming, the current product is designed to allow body shops, partners, and distributors in dozens of countries and speaking dozens of languages, a system to search for formulas and mix the paint used to paint cars. This involves high-tech IoT devices such as Spectrophotometers, Digitally Connected Scales, and Label Printers. This core solution is a key part of the digital strategy within BASF Automotive Refinish Coatings and will continue to evolve and improve with future advancements. This solution is globally used, and thus, requires a “global mindset and approach” throughout the development process. The expectation is for the role to act as a steward for BASF with a focus on customer centric solutions.

The focus of the role will be developing cloud based near real time applications for BASF Coatings and Refinish.  The applications will be used globally by distributors, body shops, and painters.  This is a great role that utilizes skills in Angular for front end development, C# are the middle tier, and SQL server databases.  There is also potential for technical growth with Microsoft Azure, Azure Cognitive Services, and Power BI Embedded reporting to list a few.  You will be part of a team of developers and testers with the opportunity to learn and mold the solutions as well as develop the program.

In this role, you will be a Mid - Level Full Stack Developer (Front End Angular 7+, C# API, SQL databases, and Azure infrastructure) tasked to develop custom solutions within an existing application framework. You will demonstrate your ability to code, test, document and deploy, while working both independently as well as within a team (with the ability to communicate effectively a must). You can expect a higher workload commensurate a mid-level developer alongside coaching other developer resources while establishing your leadership skills to amplify the team’s future production capabilities. Though full stack, this role requires a reasonable amount of Angular 7+ Development (NOT ANGULAR JS).

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success
·      Leveraging your education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other Engineering discipline and your development expertise that includes Angular 2+ and C# to write quality code, you will serve as a Mid-Level Full Stack Developer utilizing Angular 7+, C#, SQL, and Azure to develop custom solutions within an existing application framework.

·      Exhibiting independent thinking, you will build, test, deploy and document applications and services.

·      Working successfully in a team environment, you will coach, lead, and train other less skilled resources such as junior developers and new college hires.

·     Operating in an Agile Scrum environment, you will complete the workload of a full stack developer.

·     Contributing to the architecture of robust cloud-based applications in Microsoft Azure, you will innovate, improve, and support business processes.

·     Your robust problem-solving skills will be essential as you investigate, debug, test, and resolve code issues.

·     Using your solid technical skills, you will migrate code and / or infrastructure as code between environments.

·     Your focus on continuous learning will serve you well as you build skills in technology, data architecture, or management.
