Batch Operator (2000452) – Newark, CA

 

Where the Chemistry Happens  

 

Works with various raw materials in the manufacture of products.  Responsible for following specific instructions outlining designated quantities to be used and production times required.  Operates various equipment in the manufacture of products; utilizes basic repair tools in performing routine mechanical repairs; operates forklift to load and/or unload raw materials and finished products.  Also, coordinates manufacturing efforts and conducts quality control initiatives.

 

This position has the knowledge and demonstrates the ability to operate state of the art packaging equipment.  Individual will interface with equipment controls to package finished product.  Individual will operate packaging line while loading units to be packaged and preparing finished product for delivery or warehousing.   Operator will take corrective actions when nonconformance occurs.  May perform work on various packaging lines to ensure the timely production of products.  Individual must be willing to work as a team member.  Work within a confined space is required and the position will work with chemicals. 

  

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success 

· 
Responsible for combining raw materials, as designated by work order for the manufacture of chemical admixtures; will also be responsible for unloading raw materials, loading bulk trucks and packaged goods with finished products.

· 
Efficiently operate equipment ensuring timely completion of quality products per production schedule. Minimize and rework scrap material.

· 
Trouble shoot equipment and process difficulties, taking corrective action to prevent the loss of material or production time.  Communicate with other operators and maintenance personnel when difficulties arise.
