Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s Asia Pacific headquarters oversees more than 18,000 employees at about 100 production sites and 125 sales offices across the region. In addition to a number of regional business units, the Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.

Objectives of the Position

Reporting to the Country Business Controller, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Mongolia, Korea, Construction Chemicals Asia Pacific, you will

· 
Ensure timely accounting in Book-To-Report (B2R) process with quality deliverables

· 
Ensure full compliance in company/ group policies, audit, tax and other statutory requirements by supporting the company secretarial tasks and filing of reliable financial statements and reports

Job Responsibilities

· 
Handled full set of accounts and ensure timely month end closing in coordination with Shared Service Centre, including booking of expenses and costs

· 
Assist in the preparation of finance cost centres for operational planning

· 
Maintain approval authority and process payments for expenses and stock purchase

· 
Ensure accurate reporting including monthly CONDOR reporting, site reporting, and other ad hoc analysis as requested by management

· 
Coordinate yearly Financial Reporting Compliance exercise. Perform evaluation and assessment according to Group standards

·  As main contact person for interim and year end audit
· 
Participate actively in ad hoc tasks and Global, Regional and HK projects as assigned

 

Requirements

· 
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines

· 
Have at least 3 years of relevant experiences of handling full set of accounts

· 
Qualified or partly qualified Accountant from accounting firms or in-house will also be considered

· 
Strong knowledge in financial accounting and reporting, IFRS and HK tax regulations

· 
Good knowledge in SAP will be highly regarded

· 
Able to collaborate and network within matrix and intercultural teams

· 
Strong business acumen, communications, and a quick learner

· 
Good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin
