The headquarters of the AXA Group, based in Paris 8th and 17th, brings together the Group's corporate activities. It coordinates the various entities with the Group's strategy and is responsible for managing international projects. The headquarters has approximately 800 employees and is distinguished by its strong international culture (39 nationalities).

The position will report to Group head of Technology Innovation having locations in Paris 17th (France), on the EPFL campus in Lausanne (Switzerland) and in San Francisco (USA).

This new unit was created earlier in 2018 to contribute to a global strategic program of digital transformation and innovation to drive AXA towards becoming a tech-led company. It is not only an innovation unit but also, and above all, an engineering team helping AXA entities to “test and learn” their ideas leveraging emerging technologies and scale them across the group. We strongly believe in learning by doing and acknowledge we have the right to fail if we learn along the way. Our projects span from IT related topics, to computer vision, cognitive services, bots, drones and many other web/mobile initiatives. Our mission is to transform an idea into a first stage of execution. Once the feasibility and the value for users is confirmed, we scale it with the help of industrialization teams.

To reinforce our software engineering team , we are looking for a highly motivated software engineer, very aware of trends and groundbreaking startups. Years of experience is not what matters. We will value passion, openness, curiosity, respect, engagement, a “big picture vision” and for sure, someone who loves coding! We don't intend to “play” with technology, we do really seek for impact.

MISSIONS

In a group of passionate software engineers, data scientists, actuaries and designers on a mission to invent the technologies, you will support the next generation of insurance products using Computational Law. We are responsible of the whole product development and we are looking for a passionate Software Engineer to reinforce our engineering team.

As an impact driven intrapreneur, you will help us develop prototypes and products to be deployed in production.

As a Software Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities:
• Develop software prototypes and products that will be used in production
• Constantly improve the team knowledge with technology watch, white papers, position papers, … and promote new ideas
• Evangelize your peers within AXA about the solutions you develop and contribute to the Data and Technology Innovation Team reputation

Qualifications :

PROFILE

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a start-up or in a tech-driven company, with an entrepreneur mindset, meaning a wide understanding of technologies coupled with a sense of strategy and business impact.
We expect you to be autonomous and able to learn. The projects duration spans from 1 week to 6 months. Be ready to switch regularly: new field, new technology, new methodology, … and adapt to the new situation.

• From 2 years of experience
• Bachelor's or graduate degrees in Computer Science or similar
• Fluent in English, French or German a plus any other languages

SKILLS

• Excited about building software prototypes.
• Excited about learning new technologies on short notice.
• Expert in at least one of this domains:



- Natural Language Processing
- Web development
- System/Linux development

• Fluent in at least 1 programming language, C++ / node.js / python preferred
• Git
• Unit testing
• Passionate about technology.
• Visionary about new technology applications

Who you are:

• Excellent written and verbal English communication. You will do most of your writing in English. Speaking will be English (mandatory) or French.
• Nice to have: fluent in Hindu or Mandarin or German.
