Test Analyst/Developer

Job description

We are recruiting for a Test Analyst/Developer to join our Underwriting Solutions Delivery Team within Aviva.

In this role, you will be working with pricing and underwriting systems that are an integral part of Aviva’s Commercial Insurance solution. You will be working alongside other members of the team, including experienced Developers and Test Analysts, to ensure our test strategy, plans, processes, procedures and standards are in line with Aviva’s goals and aspirations.

Some of the duties & responsibilities include:

• Working closely with external partners, internal Pricing and Underwriting teams and Business Analysts to assist in the delivery of enhancements to existing software and the creation of new software.
• Creating and maintaining test procedures and be involved in the full software delivery life cycle.
• Working with Test Analysts to help drive continuous improvement.
• Challenging existing methods and practices, helping to design and implement new processes and techniques.
• Giving to team-orientated projects and workstreams using a variety of methodologies, including Agile SCRUM/KANBAN and traditional waterfall.

Skills & experience we would like to see:

• A motivated, enthusiastic and self-driven technological enthusiast.
• Proven, high standard of written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the business.
• Good understanding of Excel formulas, e.g. VLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX, etc.
• Ideally, some experience in creating, executing and maintaining test cases and plans / knowledge of manual testing techniques
• VBA and/or other programming/developing experience as well as ISEB/ISTQB certifications would be advantageous.
