12-month FTC with potential to extend

Aviva is required to adhere to the new IFRS 17 reporting standard which comes into force in January 2022. This marks a step change in how we report our profit and loss and is arguably the most impactful change in insurance reporting for a generation.

Aviva International Insurance (AII) is a captive insurer writing both Life and GI business and plays a pivotal role in the success of Aviva; supporting the business to achieve targeted financial returns and maintaining the confidence of our shareholders and regulators. Our strategy is to drive commercial value, deliver excellence in capital and solvency management, drive operational excellence and operate as one outstanding team.

In this role, you will support the overall delivery of the IFRS 17 change project ensuring the AII are compliant with the requirements and ready for implementation.

Working across multiple disciplines, the AII Market Finance team leads in the timely and efficient provision of high-quality financial information for: statutory/regulatory reporting requirements; day to day decision making; balance sheet optimisation; scenario analysis; strategic planning.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities of the role?

·  Deliver IFRS 17 financial information to support decision making and legal entity statutory/regulatory reporting requirements in respect of AII
·  Review and interpret FIA impact analysis across Annuities, GI and Unit Linked business areas
·  Prepare internal messaging to Board and provide updates to senior management within AII
·  Provide SME input into AII results including risks & limitations of the analysis
·  Develop management actions & scenario analysis to help communicate new sensitivities & risks effectively to senior management

What skills & experience are we looking for?

·  Experience of financial reporting, messaging and analysis
·  IFRS 17 or Quota Share Reinsurance actuarial IFRS 4 experience
·  Understanding of accounting aspects of IFRS (P&L/Income statement constructions)
·  Ability to interpret complex data, craft management actions and feed into plans/high level communications
