Organisational Overview

We are seeking an experienced analyst who is keen to develop an interest in, or can demonstrate capability in, innovative solutions for rail industry operational business problems, in a time of growth and investment with the challenge of continually improving the customer experience.

The role is within the virtual team of business/solutions analysts and architects, which needs to maintain and expand its ability to resource an increasing workload in support of bids and deliveries, primarily for Network Rail. Worldline has a long-term business focus in rail operations systems and services, from supporting, maintaining and evolving systems core to the running of the existing railway to implementing new solutions in support of the Digital Railway, always with a need for long-term supportability and reliability, coupled with integration across the rail industry.

You will be working within an established analysis and architecture team, in close collaboration with delivery groups within Worldline and with customer teams, working on solutions to business problems large and small. You will need to be able to respond to, and provide leadership to, multiple work packages at the same time, in a mix of bid and delivery work, and to support the evolution of our solution strategy. The business is highly dynamic, especially as Network Rail is just entering the new funding control period (April 2019 to March 2024) with many opportunities planned or underway.

Job Description

·  Working as a sole expert or leading a small team of analysts and/or designers to produce analysis and high-level design stage deliverables, including estimates
·  Acting as Functional Design Authority during the detailed design, build and test stages of projects, providing the overall leadership to ensure that system designs meet the customer requirements and ensuring that all changes to scope are tracked and assessed appropriately.
·  Working directly with customers, partners, third-party suppliers and other suppliers to the industry to understand the overall business context and thereby ensure that requirements are correctly defined to meet the business need and that optimum solutions are produced for the industry.
·  Performing feasibility studies for customers (either as an individual consultant or with a small team) to establish the business benefits and business case for potential projects or services, and to develop offers from Worldline in response to the results.
·  Solution assurance for both bids and deliveries, including functional reviews of solutions, estimate reviews, reviews of risks, assumptions and dependencies, contributing to bid and delivery assurance.

The job holder will be expected routinely to be working on multiple parallel activities and to be able to schedule their own time accordingly.
