The Kindle Design Studio is seeking a talented, creative, and customer-obsessed senior user experience designer to join our team in Seattle, WA.

Love creating high-bar, high-visibility UX and UI for mobile apps? Interested in the unique challenges and opportunities of designing for our Kindle E-reader devices? We offer a creative and ownership-centric work environment where you’ll be driving a key part of the core Kindle experience as you improve the ways customers curate, collect, and manage their books and drive the creation of more subscription-focused features for customer who read with Prime Reading and Kindle Unlimited.

You are strategic and highly collaborative and will work closely with a team of passionate designers, user researchers, product managers, and software developers to create the interaction flows, visual style, and assets for new and existing applications and experiences.

Responsibilities:

· Create end to end CX for our reading customers expanding the vision of how people read with Kindle
· Participating in the design of useful, usable, and desirable user interfaces in a team environment
· Work with the Kindle Design leadership to set design vision and direction for Kindle-based reading experiences
· Partner with product management and development, championing the creation of user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, professional expertise, metrics, and usability findings
· Develop and manage the development of conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes
· Work across teams to provide guidance on the correct application of mobile platform and Kindle-specific patterns
· Present design work to the Kindle design team, product stakeholders, and Amazon executives for review and feedback

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Past experience in designing and launching new v1 consumer products in new markets.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
· A sense of humor, pride in your work, and the ability to gracefully give and receive feedback.
· A strong track record of iterative design, working closely with customers, business partners, and developers throughout the entire product lifecycle.
· Ability to drive the design review cycle and lead closure on design requirements
· A passion for books and reading.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 4+ years of experience as a user experience designer
· Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
· An online portfolio with at least three case studies that demonstrate a thorough understanding of a user centered design process
· Deep experience in web and native apps and mobile first design approaches.
