DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Technical Writer to join a team that creates technical documentation for AWS Systems Manager, which helps customers organize, monitor, and automate management tasks for AWS infrastructure and resources. As a member of the writing team for Systems Manager, you will document new features and services, and continuously improve existing documentation based on customer feedback.

Ideally, you have both a technical background that enables easy interaction with the Systems Manager engineering team and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical documentation that helps customers.

Your responsibilities as a technical writer include creating conceptual information, step-by-step procedures, API descriptions, and example commands. Be one of the first to try new features as you work with developers and designers to improve the related user experience, UI text, error messages, and API design. Interact directly with customers and use their feedback to improve the documentation dynamically, then update and publish your documentation on demand. Work with peer writers and editors to improve your writing and grow professionally as a technical communicator.

The ideal candidate would have the writing experience, project management ability, and communication skills to successfully:

· Track and prioritize multiple responsibilities and deliverables
· Communicate quickly and effectively across multiple teams and channels to keep partners informed
· Act as point of contact and resource for others regarding specific publishing process and tools
· Maintain internal documentation for those publishing process and tools
· Work as part of a team to produce conceptual, how-to, and API reference documentation for AWS products.
· Help define writing projects and determine priorities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience using and following a style guide.
• Ability to use multiple documentation tools to write, format, manage, and publish high-quality content.
• Ability to work with XML-based publishing systems.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
