DESCRIPTION

Would you like to join a team that produces high-quality technical documentation for Amazon Web Services (AWS)? Are you passionate about cloud computing and helping customers automate and manage their IT infrastructure and cloud applications at scale? Do you have a passion for IT Ops and DevOps and the technical background necessary to help maintain Amazon as the premier player in cloud computing and web services technology?

We have an exciting entry-level opportunity for a technical writer who will create documentation for AWS Systems Manager. As the newest member of our documentation team, you will work in a fast-paced environment to coordinate, schedule, and execute documentation releases involving multiple writers and product teams. This includes creating both public AWS developer documentation and documenting the internal tools and processes necessary for other writers to perform their work.

The ideal candidate has technical writing experience, project management ability, and communication skills to successfully:

· Track and prioritize multiple responsibilities and deliverables.
· Communicate quickly and effectively across multiple teams and channels to keep partners informed.
· Act as point of contact and resource for others regarding publishing process and tools.
· Maintain internal documentation for those publishing process and tools.
· Work as part of a team to produce conceptual, how-to, and API reference documentation for AWS products.
· Help define writing projects and determine priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with cloud computing, web services, IaaS, PaaS, or related areas.
· Experience working with agile project management methodologies.

· Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science or a related field.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Proven experience using and following a style guide.
· Ability to use multiple documentation tools to write, format, manage, and publish high-quality content.
· Ability to work with XML-based publishing systems.
· Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
