The Kindle Design Studio is seeking a talented, creative, and customer-obsessed senior user experience designer to join our team.

You are strategic and highly collaborative and will work closely with a team of passionate designers, user researchers, product managers, and software developers to create the interaction flows, visual style, and assets for new and existing applications and experiences.

Responsibilities:

· Create end to end CX for our reading customers expanding the vision of how people interact with Kindle
· Participating in the design of useful, usable, and desirable user interfaces in a team environment
· Work with the Kindle Design leadership to set design vision and direction for Kindle-based reading experiences
· Partner with product management and development, championing the creation of user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, professional expertise, metrics, and usability findings
· Develop and manage the development of conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes
· Present design work to the Kindle design team, product stakeholders, and Amazon executives for review and feedback

Note: we are open to someone either relocating to Seattle to be co-located with our team or working virtually with frequent trips to Seattle.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Demonstrated ability as a visual designer
· Ability to prototype in Flinto, Framer and / or HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
· Familiarity with common design patterns for Android and iOS
· Experience designing UX that bridges multi-platforms including mobile apps, web-based applications, and desktop apps
· Past experience in designing and launching new v1 consumer products in new markets.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
· A sense of humor, pride in your work, and the ability to gracefully give and receive feedback.
· A passion for books and reading

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· At least 8 years of experience as a user experience designer or similar
· Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
· An online portfolio with at least three case studies that demonstrate a thorough understanding of a user centered design process
· A strong track record of iterative design, working closely with customers, business partners, and developers throughout the entire product lifecycle
· Demonstrated ability to drive the design review cycle and lead closure on design requirements
· Deep experience in web and native apps and mobile first design approaches
