DESCRIPTION

Amazon Pharmacy is looking for a Senior Program Manager, Program Management with a strong delivery record and experience to own and manage strategic, cross-functional pharmacy and technology projects within the Pharmacy Services organization. This role will require influencing business, engineering and software teams across the company to prioritize projects which support both budgetary and scalability needs.
This role will have direct oversight of project managers, analysts and external partner operations employees and will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for this newly developed team. Our goal is to improve and enhance Pharmacy Services to ultimately drive the best customer experience in the safest, most reliable and cost-efficient manner.
The manager will find business solutions through advanced technologies, alternative designs, process innovation and execution strategies. Successful candidates will have prior experience in technology sourcing. They will have experience with Lean Six Sigma methods and tools in process improvement leading to waste identification and reduction, Cost Analysis & Optimization, Modularization & Standardization, 3rd party Productivity Improvements, and Target Pricing/Target Costing.
They will engage with internal partners (Design, Engineering, Technology, Operations, and Finance) to perform cost analysis and optimization, design-to-cost for designs, to achieve tangible business impact, and perform optimization gap analysis and lead projects to implement solutions. They must be capable of sorting through many competing priorities, defining processes that improve execution, championing best practices, executing with precision, and succeeding in a complex and fast paced environment. The ideal candidate must have a proven history of cross functional leadership, responsibility for large projects, cost control/P&L responsibility, and driving innovation across a high-performing engineering organization.
Responsibilities include:

· Forming cross-functional project teams, planning and organizing, managing, and executing complex projects across multiple organizations and stakeholders
·
· You will manage large, complex initiatives, deal with ambiguity and advocate on behalf of the customer.
·
· Innovating for step-change improvement in safety, quality, and cost metrics
·
· Benchmarking Amazon Pharmacy Services practices both internally and externally against best-in-class operations
·
· Developing pharmacy strategies for new business initiatives with complex operational components
·
· Leading internal product feature launches that optimize pharmacy systems and reduce labor costs
·
· Partnering with Directors, VPs, and other key operational experts across the company to lead, support, and influence business initiatives.

· Capacity Management (software throughput, etc.) Planning and Design including: Validate operating rates of software, create future plans, facilitate planning sessions, Take forecast, synthesize it, create strategy plan for future loads/Sr. leadership, Comprehensive knowledge of bottlenecks in network

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MBA or Master’s degree preferred in Project Management, Operations, or related discipline and work experience in technical field is highly desired
·
· 8+ years of experience in capacity management and strategic planning
·
· Lean/Six Sigma black belt certification or equivalent
·
· Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL, Perl, Unix/Linux, Visual Basic or other programming languages are a plus
·
· Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
·
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented with the ability to problem solve independently.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Program Management, or other technical field from an accredited university or 4+ years Amazon experience
·
· 5+ years’ experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, design, project management, sourcing / vendor management / strategic sourcing
·
· 2+ years of experience analyzing cost/benefit of proposed projects
·
· Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required, including use of lookups and pivot tables.
·
· Experience managing the implementation of large engineering projects and initiatives; experience collaborating with various groups (finance, HR, etc.) to complete projects on time and within budget
·
· Experience working with project management tools/software
·
· Ability and desire to travel 25-50% of the time (domestically)
·
· Strong negotiation and influencing skills
·
· Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up recommendations and develop business cases
