DESCRIPTION

You would be one of the founding members of a dynamic team bringing the latest in disruptive, cutting-edge cloud computing technologies to bear on the difficult cost and agility challenges facing many organizations.

AWS RoboMaker is a service that makes it easy to develop, test, and deploy intelligent robotics applications at scale. RoboMaker extends the most widely used open-source robotics software framework, Robot Operating System (ROS), with connectivity to cloud services. This includes AWS machine learning services, monitoring services, and analytics services that enable a robot to stream data, navigate, communicate, comprehend, and learn. RoboMaker provides a robotics development environment for application development, a robotics simulation service to accelerate application testing, and a robotics fleet management service for remote application deployment, update, and management.

In this role, you will combine your passion and enthusiasm for robotics, cloud technology and AI. You will work alongside AWS customers and partners to build solutions using AWS RoboMaker , identify industry wide technical trends and help guide strategic technical decision making for AWS robotics products.

In our Emerging Technology and Intelligence Practice, you will also have the opportunity to create white papers, writing blogs, build demos and other reusable collaterals that can be used by our customers and most important, you will work closely with our Solution Architects, Service Engineering teams, Data Scientists and IoT experts to build Robotics solutions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with robotics simulation using AWS RoboMaker or Robotic Operation System and Software development on cloud and edge Excellent business and communication skills are a must to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions. You should be able to work with business customers in understanding the business requirements and implementing solutions.
Responsibilities include:
· Solutions - Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer requirements, creating consulting proposals and creating packaged Robotics service offerings.
· Delivery - Engagements include short on-site projects proving the use of AWS services to support robotics projects.
· Insights - Work with AWS engineering and support teams to convey partner and customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps.
· Push the envelope – Cloud computing is reducing the historical “IT constraint” on businesses. Imagine bold possibilities and work with our clients and partners to find innovative new ways to satisfy business needs through Robotics solutions.

This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations to deliver professional services when needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Math.
· Experience in IoT, machine learning, robotics
· 5+ years experience in a customer-facing role
· Professional experience architecting systems for real world applications and simulation
· Ability to lead effectively across organizations.
· Computer Science or Math background preferred.
· Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation. Should be able to interact with Chief Marketing Officers, Chief Risk Officers, Chief Technology Officers, and Chief Information Officers, as well as the people within their organizations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Analytical orientation, possessing 5 or more years of IoT/large-scale robotics implementation, operations and/or solution deployment experience in a business-critical, high-availability context.
· Technical degrees in computer science, software engineering, or mathematics; working knowledge of modern software development practices such as agile methodologies and DevOps
· 5+ years’ experience in software development, with special emphasis in robotics application development or related technologies.
· Experience developing software code in one or more programming languages (C,C++,Java, JavaScript, Python, etc).
· Current hands-on implementation experience required
