Alexa is the Amazon cloud service that powers Echo, the groundbreaking new Amazon device designed around your voice. We are seeking a driven, curious data scientist to support our ongoing customer sentiment and predictive analytics research in Alexa. This Sr. Date Scientist has broad skills in user research and a thorough understanding of quantitative research.
The Sr. Date Scientist is responsible for bringing customer insights into the product development process—and would ensure we have the customer data we need to delight customers throughout their new device experience and to successfully predict the success of every product we help launch. This Sr. Data Scientist has deep expertise in all aspects of quantitative research, including experimental design (familiarity with A/B testing), statistics (regressions, analysis of variance, multilevel models, structural equation models, etc.), and data collection and processing in a variety of settings (e.g., basic survey skills, behavioral metrics). This candidate also possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, an ability to convey complex findings to a variety of audiences, and exceptional organizational skills. This role provides opportunity for significant visibility to leadership, to provide novel insights to stakeholders with exciting data, and an exposure to Alexa's newest products.
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Graduate degree in a discipline of science, like psychology, applied statistics, behavioral science, or behavioral economics
· 5+ years of experience with quantitative statistics, including regressions, analysis of variance, multilevel models, structural equation models
· 5+ years data experience, including working with a variety of data, including survey data and behavioral data and analyzing results from A/B testing
· 2+ years experience writing research reports for a variety of audiences
· Experience in predictive analytics, including machine learning methods.
· Fluent in R or Python
· 3+ years post-academic industry experience
· Experience using SQL and extracting data
