DESCRIPTION

About the Role
As a Refrigeration Technician III, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration systems commonly installed in large warehouse settings. Specifically, you will operate, inspect and maintain all HVAC and refrigeration assets along with associated mechanical, electrical, controls, plumbing and other equipment. You will also work with other Service Technicians to inspect and repair base building equipment as needed.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
- Perform prescribed, routing maintenance procedures on HVAC, refrigeration systems, refrigerated display cabinets, unit coolers and condensing units.
- Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures.
- Diagnose refrigeration systems and perform necessary repairs.
- Create and close out work orders with data including labour hours, equipment maintenance and parts used
- Maintain a positive working relationships across all of the Amazon Operations facility
- Locate and repair leaks on racks and single-units.
- Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets
- Move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
- Available for call-in working and performance of other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
· Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking
· Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 49 pounds
· Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
· Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces
· Physically able to climb ladders and maneuverer safely around roof-top and box-top equipment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications
· Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
· Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration and HVAC
· Basic application knowledge of commercial refrigeration system and food safety is an added advantage
· Previous leadership experience
· Previous vendor management experience
· Experience with robotic or electromechanical maintenance
· Knowledge of computer networking systems and infrastructure
· Low voltage signal tracing and troubleshooting of logical devices and signal feedback loops.
· Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Building Maintenance software, and Collaboration tools
· Strong HVAC, electrical and mechanical aptitude skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
· High school or equivalent diploma
· 5+ years of experience working with commercial Refrigerants (HFC, HCFC, CFC, HC, HFC/HFO blend, glycol and CO2) and refrigeration system.
· Knowledge and hands on experience of refrigeration, mechanical, electrical and microprocessor control systems.
· Knowledge and hand on experience of tube bending, brazing and sheet metal welding process
· Knowledge of appropriate use of PPE during maintenance service and repair activities
· 5+ years of experience conducting preventative & procedure based maintenance
·
· Knowledge of single systems (self-contained or one to one remote), systems on multiple unit coolers with single condensing unit, parallel rack systems, walk-in boxes and refrigerated display cases.
· 3+ years of work order management
· EPA Universal Certification and licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction.
· Experience manipulating a computer, i.e. email, word processing, reading spreadsheets, internet browser basics.
