DESCRIPTION

Amazon's Fulfillment Technologies group is seeking enthusiastic and talented Programmer/Analyst to help innovate, architect, design and build highly available and scalable systems. As a member of a small team, you will get the opportunity to work on highly visible, innovative projects that directly impact thousands software developers and engineers. You will be involved in all the aspects of the software development cycle including scoping, design, implementation, testing & delivery of your products well as setting the vision and future roadmap. As world’s largest fulfillment operations handling group, we obsess for innovation in simplifying these operations.

This Programmer/Analyst will own the Efficiency product that is being used across Amazon. This product helps service/application teams to bring optimization to services and to reduce the footprint intern improving the bottom line. Engineer will work on enhancing and bringing awaited features to this product. These features will make this product much easier to use and will bring automation around improving the efficiency with least intervention from software teams. This product has potential to save hundreds of millions dollars for the company.

As a successful candidate you will be able to create pragmatic solutions for complex business problems, enjoy working closely with technology teams to optimize processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
· Experience influencing software engineers best practices within your team
· Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
· Demonstrates skill and passion for operational excellence.
· Documentation skills

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's in CS or related field + 5 years of experience or Master's and 2 years of experience in software quality assurance
· Knowledge of scripting languages such as SQL, Perl, Python, XML or Ruby
· Ability to write code in C, C++ or Java
· Ability to understand functional/technical specifications and analyze data
· Strong organizational and problem solving skills with great attention to detail, including the ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize the results
· Excellent QA aptitude and ability to drive process improvements
