Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT builds and operates software, hardware, and processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers that move many millions of units of inventory, employ tens of thousands of people, and ensure that customers get what they want by the promised date/time. In the service of our customers, we are innovating in the areas of material handling automation, robotics, machine learning, logistics and transportation.
The Operations Technology team under Fulfillment & Robotics organization, supports all of the software and infrastructure that powers Amazon's world-class fulfillment engine. The Operations Technology team in India is looking for a Programmer Analyst to support worldwide expansion of Amazon Fulfillment network.

As Programmer Analyst you will be part of Node Launch & Automation team, work closely with Technology Service teams and business customers, and drive innovation and best practice adoption. Your solutions will impact our customers directly! This job requires you to constantly hit the ground running and your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks will define your success.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for working on behalf of teams and customers, have a track record of on-time delivery of large scale projects, and have the ability to operate independently and autonomously. Maturity, judgment, communication skills, negotiation skills and influencing skills are all essential as you interact with cross functional teams worldwide.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Understanding and experience working with UNIX/Linux fundamentals, Databases, Java, JavaScript.
· Exposure to Cloud/AWS technologies.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to bridge between teams of varying technical expertise.
· Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
· Experience in managing large scale highly available distributed systems.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or minimum 3 years of applicable professional experience.
· Proficiency with an OO language (Java or C++) and design patterns.
· Experience with RDBMS/No-SQL scaling challenges, data modeling.
· Experience with any/all of the following preferred: Python, Perl, Ruby, SQL, Unix.
· Excellent analytical and debugging skills.
· Maniacal customer obsession and focus.
· Develop and maintain a culture of innovation and operational excellence in the team.
