Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Principal Prototying Architect for our Worldwide Prototyping Program. The ideal candidate will have experience with design, implementation, and consulting of Cloud native solutions and related technologies. As a member of the Worldwide team, you will work with other Prototyping and Specialist Solutions Architects, Professional Services, AWS partners, and customers around the world to accelerate our customers' cloud transformation and foster Best Practices. You will engage in a wide range of activities around your domain of expertise, providing technical advice to customers, helping the internal and external communities, presenting and evangelizing AWS Services, highlighting success stories and use cases, and providing a preferred path between AWS service teams and customers.

Prototyping Solutions Architects (SA) help customers articulate requirements, select the technologies that will support their business requirements, and build technical end-to-end prototypes tailored to their needs. Key to our scaling operations is building assets of reusable components, in the form of reference architectures, code libraries, and full solutions. You will have the opportunity to shape and deliver on the strategy and approach for amplifying the impact of Prototyping teams. You will drive the Open Source contribution model to build mind share and broad usage of AWS in these technical and industry focus areas. You will work closely with the other Prototyping and Specialist SAs on next generation solutions leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT), Analytics, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Modern Applications Development, Artificial Reality/Virtual Reality, Blockchain, Robotics to enable large-scale customer use cases and foster the adoption of AWS. You will interact with other SAs, providing guidance on their customer engagements by developing white papers, blogs, reference implementations, and presentations to enable customers and 3rd parties to fully leverage AWS services. You will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate AWS solutions into customer architectures.

Candidates have a mix of excellent communication, technical skills, and business acumen. They will have the ability to engage with customers at different levels in the organization, from executive to developer. Previous experience with AWS is desired but not required, provided you have experience building large scale solutions. You will get the opportunity to work directly with senior engineers at customers, partners, and AWS service teams, influencing their roadmaps and fostering innovation.

Roles and responsibilities
· Build and maintain technical trusted advisor relationships with influential technical decision makers and executives for the successful adoption and deployment of AWS services and technologies.
· Develop the strategic plan for AWS Prototyping reuse and Open Source contribution model.
· Serve as a key member of the business development and account management team in helping to ensure customer success in building, securing, and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
· Provide thought leadership on solutions that benefit customers through the use of AWS Services. Craft & develop compelling audience-specific messages and tools (product videos, customer success stories, demos, whitepapers, presentations, how to guides etc.) Present AWS services and technologies through forums such as AWS Blogs, Whitepapers, Reference architectures and Public-Speaking events such as Executive Briefings, AWS Summits, AWS re:Invent, AWS User Groups, and industry events.
· Develop, capture, and promote best-practices; participate and contribute as a member of the worldwide AWS technical community of Solution Architects, Professional Services Consultants, Technical Account Managers, and AWS Trainers.
· Serve as a conduit between the AWS Service teams and the customers, providing detailed guidance for the broader field organization and the customers, and acting as an advocate for the customers towards the central teams.

This position requires both domestic and international travel, up to 25%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Self-starter with proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across an organization and cultures as well as working independently.

· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to use
· Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at senior and executive levels.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Track record of implementing cloud solutions in a variety of business environments such as large enterprises, government agencies, and start-ups
· Working knowledge of modern software development practices and technologies such as Agile methodologies and DevOps. Experience working with RESTful API and general service oriented architectures.
· Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at senior and executive levels.
