DESCRIPTION

Buyer Risk Operations drives stopping the bad actors from using our systems to hurt our great customers. We do this by ensuring that we have the right staffing for a 24-by-7-by-365 operation worldwide that support our existing countries, new countries, and all of the many new product offerings that Amazon is launching.

To deliver on this our Buyer Operations Strategy and Analysis team is looking for a talented Business Analyst II to drive the building and answering of some of our biggest questions.
This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities and business acumen, with exceptional written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of business, the underlying analytics, and the ability to assimilate new methodologies and data sources. They will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. They will analyze large amounts of data, discover and solve real world problems and build metrics and business cases to help our Operations team to make decisions.

We are looking for a Planning Analyst with strong data skills and self sufficient with sourcing data (SQL) and analysis to answer some big questions that will have a material impact on our overall business. This position will be a key member of our Strategy and Analysis team, working with our business and operations stakeholders to produce insights, ideas, and actions for evolving our business in the coming years.

Responsibilities may include:
· Design, collect, and analyze the data that allows you to come up with a point of view for how we should solve our big questions.
· Identify areas of opportunity for our Operations team to reduce waste and improve how we manage our cost.
· Build the capabilities for how we integrate science/analytics in to our annual planning processes, our Site Strategy (what is the best way to deploy a team of 4K people for highest quality and low cost).
· Identify process and system improvement opportunities by monitoring existent metrics, analyzing data and partnering with internal teams
· Design and develop automated reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Supply Chain or related field
· 2+ years of experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analyst role
· Data proficiency and a mastery of SQL
· 3+ year of experience conducting analysis and data mining using Excel
Preferred Qualifications
· 5+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analysis role
· Master’s Degree in Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics or related quantitative field or MBA with a concentration in Quantitative Analysis.
· Experience in Fraud, Banking, Operations Planning, and/or Risk is a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analysis role
· Master’s Degree in Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics or related quantitative field or MBA with a concentration in Quantitative Analysis.
· Experience in Fraud, Banking, Operations Planning, and/or Risk is a plus.
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
