Amazon’s Transportation department is seeking a highly skilled and passionate person to help develop a world-class transportation network that delivers products on time at the lowest cost to the customers. Our mission is to build the most efficient transportation solution on the planet. The position will be responsible for leading the design, planning and monitoring of Amazon’s last mile delivery network in Japan.

As a network design analyst, you will leverage in-house tools and combine data from various sources to recommend how to organize a quickly growing and changing delivery network in the most optimal way. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team at the heart of Amazon operations, be part of one of the world’s largest logistics operations and take decisions that have direct impact on millions of Amazon’s customers. This is a strategic role in Amazon transportation planning team, which offers development opportunities to manager level

The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights and should have an internal drive to challenge the status quo. You would be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. Success in Network Design does not only require excellent analytical skills, but also strong interpersonal and communication skills. Designing an optimal network involves connecting different teams toward a single vision and timeline, which requires superior stakeholder management capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:
· Design the network and develop the plan to support the geographical and services expansion of Amazon transportation network in Japan, in line with strategic goals.
· Anticipate future capacity needs and define how to re-organize the network to meet customers’ demand.
· Identify opportunities to optimize the Amazon transportation network, balancing delivery accuracy, speed and cost.
· Provide reports and analyses through tools, portals and databases (Redshift, SQL, Excel, and/or other data management systems) to allow full visibility of both the plan and our execution against it.
· Leverage in-house tools and internal data to perform simulation analysis and assess the network behavior under different scenarios.
· Deep dive on issues to drive short-term network fixes and long-term improvements.
· Deliver results through extensive cross functional integration with multiple internal teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Intermediate Japanese level (JLPT N2 or above).
· Familiarity with Transportation and Supply Chain management concepts – especially forecasting, planning, network design & optimization - gained through work experience or education.
· Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Comfortable writing clear reports for leadership review
· Proficient extracting and processing data using SQL/Redshift
· Experience with VBA, R or Python.

【Salary Information】
Monthly basic salary: 675,000 yen or more (Your annual basic salary will be paid by twelve (12) equal installments.)
Your basic salary includes the amount equal to the overtime work allowances for 70 hours of your overtime work, as overtime work allowances, midnight work allowances and statutory holiday work allowances (the “Fixed Premium Wages”). If the actual amount of the overtime work allowances, midnight work allowances and statutory holiday work allowances exceeds the amount of the Fixed Premium Wages, the company shall pay you the balance. Reference Example: If the basic salary is 675,000 yen, the Fixed Premium Wages will be 238,637 yen, and the basic salary excluding the Fixed Premium Wages is 436,363 yen.
※Your monthly basic salary will be finally decided after employment interview, taking into account the candidate's skills, qualifications, career, experience, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Statistics, Engineering, Business management, Transportation, Operations Research, or other Operations disciplines.
· 3+ years of experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analyst role.
· 2+ years of experience in project management in a relevant industry, with cross-functional stakeholders.
· Proficient with Microsoft Excel
· Business level of English
