Interested in working on a new mobile initiative? Help us build new mobile experiences for our customers who attend AWS conferences world-wide. You will be responsible for creating the best interactive attendee experience on IOS & Android devices. The AWS Marketing Engineering team is passionate about building scalable, well-designed software and we are currently building a new platform entirely on cutting-edge AWS services and our mobile apps are a significant part of that. Your work will have high visibility across the AWS team and global AWS community of developers and users.

As a member of the team you will be responsible for leading the development and launch of core mobile product features. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these mobile product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.

Your job includes working closely with Product Management to understand and clarify requirements, working closely with our UX Design team to vet proposals from a technical feasibility perspective, and adding creative influence to simplify, enhance, and best impact our customers. You'll be responsible for the design, implementation, testing and deployment of a wide range of user interfaces and user experiences, integrating your code into a full CI/CD pipeline. You'll work closely with the entire engineering team to execute on major deliverables.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Firm understanding of software development principles, capabilities and limitations of mobile platforms (IOS & Android)
· Passion for building great mobile app experiences
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
· Experience with full-native, hybrid, and pure-web mobile app development
· Understanding and desire to work with React Native
· Development experience defining, developing and maintaining REST based interfaces
· Experience developing high quality, large scale consumer applications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 7+ years of commercial software development experience in Java and/or Objective C
· Mobile development experience is a must to have
· Bachelor / Masters in Computer Science or equivalent
