Prime Air has great potential to enhance the services we already provide to millions of customers by providing rapid parcel delivery that will also increase the overall safety and efficiency of the transportation system.

The Business Operations, Systems and Support team within Prime Air is responsible for the tools that the organization uses to achieve this goal. Our solutions include PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), collaboration platforms and vehicle maintenance, and the data infrastructure for the Prime Air organization. We’re a diverse group that combines product managers, software developers, engineers, and learning professionals to deliver across a wide range of technical challenges.

We are currently looking for a Development Operations Lead to help us optimize and grow our development operations team. At Amazon we hire hands-on managers at all levels. This leader must be able to dive deep into the details of business, operations, and engineering efforts. We need a technical, detail-oriented leader who can build and grow organizations. Our services operate at scale and support workloads critical to safety, so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key. In this role you will have the opportunity to:

· Drive continual improvement in systems operations through tool building and automation.
· Drive the roadmap for our services - including brand new ones - in collaboration with our product managers, other development and engineering managers, and engineers.
· Drive root cause analyses.
· Scale our services: Lead the planning, forecasting, and technical approaches to operating at peak scale.
· Define and drive projects and report on their progress.
· Report on the health of these services at an executive level.
· Collaborate with and learn from world-class leaders to meet world-class challenges, every day.

Export Controls License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
· 15+ years of experience in systems engineering and technical administration
· 8+ years of people management experience
· AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
· Python or PowerShell scripting competency

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent work experience
· 7+ years of relevant hands-on systems engineering and administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems
· 3+ years of experience as the leader of an enterprise-scale IT organization operating in a 24x7 environment
· Strong systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
· Experience supporting on-premise third party solutions (monitoring, troubleshooting, scaling)
· Agile engineering practices (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.)
